What a wild and crazy week it’s been. Six days, eight cities traveled through, four states visited, 18 relatives met up with, four ponies ogled, 500 miles driven, four flights flown, six trains ridden, two old friends caught up with, a herd of alpacas and two llamas serenaded, one show played, countless new friends met… one super fun time.

It’s less than four days until Juliann (from Monday Mgmt.) and I leave for NYC, New Jersey, and Maine! I am so freaking excited about our trip. I can hardly contain myself. I can’t wait to wear my fluffy black parka and knitted alpaca hipster - hat… all the kiddie’s love the hipster hat.

Something fun and unexpected happened a few days ago when I learned that ABC Family’s brand new show “Jane By Design” would be using FOUR of my songs in episode 2. I’ve had a couple songs used in the same episodes before, but this was different because every song came off a different album and from completely different projects spanning about 5 years of my career (including two tracks that haven’t even been released yet!).

I think the holiday season is a special time for everyone, and we all have memories that tie us to those times in our life we can look back and cherish. For instance, when I was growing up SOMEONE (ahem… not gonna name names) thought it would be a great holiday tradition to listen to Aaron Neville’s “Soulful Christmas”. I mocked and complained and rolled my adolescent nirvana loving eyeballs in protest, but now in retrospect I can appreciate those moments, and I actually feel the warm fuzzies when that choppy megatron vibrato breaks into the chorus of “O Holy night” (thanks mom).

10. All the good shows are back on.. the highly addictive adult soap operas thinly shrouded as dramas, the comedies starring the quirky fish out of water type trying to conform to radically different social surroundings because of some unexpected trauma… *sigh. I’m not gonna lie, I like it all! Sometimes I get angry because I’m like “Dear Grey’s Anatomy writers, NOBODY gets shot/pregnant/divorced/sliced up by helicopter blades THAT many times in a year AND still manages to cure Diabetes!”. But like a moth to a flame, or a pre-teen girl to Justin Beeber, I just can’t help myself.

I just found out that “All Smiles” got picked up for the Gossip Girl promo for next Monday’s episode. Yaaaaay! I love it when friends tell me about these things before I hear it from “official sources”.

Also, I just booked a trip to Hawaii! I am so excited to visit my friends and family. It will be a short one, so no Oahu shows are planned, but I will be playing on Kauai on Oct 23rd at KCF’s 20 year celebration so come by if you wanna see my face!!
